I'm
lucky enough to live in one of the greatest countries on earth --
Canada. I may complain about the weather or some other little thing
from time to time, but, although I'd like to travel, my heart will
always be in Canada. |

Canada
is a vast country; it's the second largest nation in the world after
Russia, but is
home to only about 30 million people. It has a flavour of cultural
diversity and an atmosphere of tolerance. Canada is clean, safe,
stable, and beautiful. From the soaring mountains and golden prairies
to the sparkle of the modern cities to the humble villages on the
rugged coasts, Canada has much to offer in its scenary. Also considering
the advanced technology and social welfare, Canadians have good
reason to be proud of their true North strong and free. |
My home
province is Ontario -- the richest and most
populated. It was one of the original four provinces
in the Canadian Confederation, and today is the
centre of commerce, finance, and industry, as well
as home of the nation's largest city (Toronto) and
it's capital (Ottawa).
And speaking of Ottawa, that's
where I live.
Actually, my house is about 15 minutes south
of Ottawa in the small town of Manotick.

Ottawa is very fitting
as Canada's capital.
The old and the new blend in harmony in this very
attractive city which sits at the meeting point
of English and French Canada. Typical images
of Ottawa include the Rideau Canal (which
becomes the world's longest skating rink every
winter!) and the neo-Gothic Parliament buildings
whose signature Peace Tower rises over the
Ottawa River (the border between Ontario
and Quebec).
