My name
is Aaron Chapman. I was born on April 29th,
1978 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
I lived
there for a few years before my family moved
to Ottawa. After a few more years, we moved again,
this time to St. John's, Newfoundland, where we
stayed until 1997, when we went back to Ottawa.
Currently, I am studying Linguistics at the
University of Ottawa.
So, what am I like? Here's
what my fiancée
Charlene wrote about me:
"When
I met Aaron in high school, I never imagined we
would be engaged a few years later. He seemed so
serious and intense, but thankfully he has mellowed
over the years. I've learned a lot about him,
but he still surprises me.
"Many
times he has baffled me when he suddenly spouts
an idea or theory. His mind is always working, always
mulling something over, what I have named 'clickity-
clack'. Aaron's mind is always going 'clickity-clack'. He
wants to understand everything and everyone, and
won't hesitate to question something. I think this is a
good trait, but since I can't always express myself
well, frustration can result on both sides
when we have discussions.
"Aaron
loves gadgets! It seems he's always planning
his next purchase. He can become quite a showman
when demonstrating it. But no matter what its function,
if it has cool lights and interesting noises, he's
going to be attracted to it.
"Although
I believe Aaron has mellowed out over time,
he can still be pretty intense. If he wants to do
something, he can quickly develop a one-track mind
with only one goal. While designing this webpage,
little could distract him from it. And even when he
wasn't actually working on it, it was often a
source of conversation for him.
"I
believe we look for a mate with qualities we
ourselves lack. Aaron is steady where I am shaky,
logical when I'm irrational, sensible when I am silly.
He is kind and dependable, loving and forgiving, smart
and strong, and I couldn't imagine life without him."
Well, now
I'm blushing. It's pretty obvious that she
loves me, maybe a little too much. :)
